Mental Health
Through our mental health services we support both the adolescent and the family. While we focus on individual advising, we hope to create a sense of unity by encouraging family relationships with family involvement and parental/guardian advising when appropriate. We offer an individually tailored mentorship program to address various concerns and concepts, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD/ADD, substance abuse, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, self-care, trauma healing, building life skills, and establishing coping methods.
Your child's mental health mentor and professional will work both with the family as well as one-on-one, meeting on a regular basis. Our team also serves as a liaison for additional resources. In addition to individual confidential care from a trusted and qualified adult, we offer peer-to-peer mentoring services to include virtual mental health meetups led and monitored by an adult, where teenagers can openly and constructively discuss various mental health topics and self-improvement strategies.
CM/A+A strongly encourages safe interaction between humans and animals. Evidence shows that pets and emotional support animals (ESA) considerably improve anxiety, depression, and loneliness scores. They provide emotional and mental support and can even help reduce chronic pain and serve as encouragement for increased activity and safety. Consistent interaction with an ESA could make all the difference in your child's overall quality of life, and CM/A+A can guide you through the benefits for both pet and owner, and the steps to registering your pet as an ESA. Furthermore, CM/A+A facilitates connections between our clients and therapy animals.

Through our mental health services at CM/A+A we will help guide the child in fostering their creativity and exploring a skill, craft, or passion to pour themselves into. Identifying short and long term goals and passions coupled with a compassionate, qualified professional to navigate these with creates a child centered accountability system and a tangible way to track their efforts.
Through guided experimentation and consistent support, the child, family, and mental health mentor will actively create and sustain an individually tailored plan that works.
